Description:
Superhuman Pianist Ruth Srenchenska, 93: "Forget my playing until yesterday. Today is even better!" It has been 15 years since his first visit to Japan in November 2003 at the age of 78 and his first recording in Okayama, Japan, and now he has recorded his ninth collection. He studied with such masters as Hofmann, Rachmaninoff, Petri, Schnabel, Cortot, and Backhaus, inherited the lineage of the three great pianists of Russia, Germany, and France, formed close friendships with many great musicians (he remained close friends with Horowitz, 21 years his senior, for the rest of his life), and developed his own unique world that surpassed even his seniors. Ruth Srenchenska is a living witness to the history of 20th century piano performance and deserves to be called the last great master. Regulus.
