Known as the original guitarist of MISSION OF BURMA, a pioneering post-hardcore/emo punk band from the US, and BIRDSONGS OF THEMESOZOIC, a long-running RECOMMEN/R.I.O. band from the 80's to the 00's, Roger Miller has released his first solo album since "THE BENEVOLENT DISRUPTIVE RAY" in 1996. Roger Miller, known as the original guitarist of the R.I.O.-style band BIRDSONGS OF THEMESOZOIC, has released his first solo album in 26 years since "THE BENEVOLENT DISRUPTIVE RAY" in 1996. The album was produced in a one-man playing style called "Solo Electric Guitar Ensemble" using a customized Stratocaster, three lap steel guitars, two prepared guitars, a pedal board, and looping effects. The 1995 album "ELEMENTAL GUITAR" was also a one-man multiple recording with guitar loops, but this one was recorded as a band with bass and drums, so the rhythms and beats are more blurred compared to that. This is an experimental piece that organically combines abstract improvisational parts and melodic compositional parts with a slight sense of intoxication, repeating tension and relaxation, creating a unique dreamlike sound that traverses all genres, including free jazz, psychedelic, and classical music.
