Tom Murphy, the namesake of the Murphy Lab, was central in the creation of the Gibson Custom Shop and personally developed the process of aging guitars. With a deep knowledge of authentic instruments, passion for his craft, and visionary creativity, Tom has developed the tools and techniques to age guitars with more accuracy and attention to detail than ever before.

This represents the first ever Murphy Lab Brazilian Rosewood limited run of 1959 Reissue Les Paul Standards and the first real limited run designed completely by Tom Murphy himself. Features include hand-picked tops, super light backs, Tom Murphy-developed custom colors, a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, and unique Murphy Lab aging that is completely exclusive to this very special run. It includes a leather- wrapped COA book, an insert mentioning the limited quantities and an aged Lifton hardshell case.
